Transformation in Business Management: Transforming a 2020 Reflection into a 2020 Succession
As we approach the end of a decade, one can just hear the melody of Auld Lang Syne and visualize the end of an era and start of a new.
This year's reflection will be tempered for many, with a well-earned sigh, reflective of the challenges faced and hope for the future.
As project practitioners, many of the efforts, work and projects engaged in were prospectively interrupted, or placed on hold and are now faced with new rules of engagement that require us to perceptively adapt our lives, operations and thinking, and documentably so, as to adhere to those requirements.
Transformation project management has been defined as “changing how organizations use of people, processes, technology and physical infrastructure to develop capabilities to meet their mission. These programs are driven by a sense of urgency, are broad in scope and impact and are typically done in parallel with ongoing operations.”
Transforming Business and Project Management from a 2020 Reflection to a 2021 Succession requires safe, fiscally sound, and socially aware processes, protocols, and procedures, respecting the past, honoring the present and with the future in mind. The potential or probability of resurgence and insurgence of related issues may require analysis, evaluations, oversight, and accountability for optimization in the future.
How we operate as professionals, the assessment of an organization or project operations and the applicable digital skills may be of utmost importance in future applications and scope. Developing and management of such efforts may require continued growth in, not limited to, the following:
Digital Skills and Data Literacy
Analytical and Critical Thinking
Creativity and Fostering Innovation
Communication Evolution
Crisis Management and Adaptation
Being proactive, prepared to adapt and focused on innovative solutions can help an organization successfully steer challenges and embrace promising opportunities in the future. NFB
