Progressive Mobility in Business Management: Developing Keys to the Project Driven Economy

Whether you are a project professional as a part of a large organization, small business, freelancer or independent, the ability to delve into and evaluate how we operate as communities, a country and how we contribute to the world economy is of great importance. It may influence how we make impactful decisions about our professional compass, and the part that will be played, or be chosen to play, in the decades to come.

“There is no greater time than the present” for practitioners in portfolio, program, and project management to evaluate our positions, past and present, and contributions allowed, to the practice. In the future, project management may be looked upon to help guide that directive.

Being prepared, diligent and knowledgeable, knowing where and what opportunities to pursue and being comfortable with the underlying intention, will be extremely important for the future of the global economy.

New and emerging technologies, workplace guidelines, sensitivities and the application of sound judgement will be critical and will play its own part in this evolution.

Perspectively, our lives, the workplace and the economy will have to adapt and grow to create a functional and consistently evolving economy that can sustain itself and continue to flourish.

Managing our Businesses to Become Progressively Mobile and Developing the Keys to support a Project Driven Economy becomes a primary goal of project professionals and practitioners alike. The project economy has been defined as ““a fundamental paradigm shift” in the business world towards using projects to handle work and solve problems” and “the world at the business level becoming projectified””.

Being socially conscious and mindful as to how that contribution impacts not only  financial and social norms, but as importantly minding the “human factor” of our existence and the value of the individual, as well as the organization and ensuring the effort does not get misaligned, exploited, or misused, is critical in leveraging fair and equitable “playing fields” upon which, all that choose to participate, have  a responsibility to uphold in conjunction with maintaining that consciousness, with the decisions being made.

Developing and enhancing the skills and capabilities needed to turn ideas into reality takes hard work, dedication, and time to be effective. It often culminates in that experience being allowed to make an impact, share knowledge, and continuing to learn and grow, resulting and imparting valuable insight and awareness into those initiatives.

Fairly embracing these “opportunities” for growth can be one of the greatest movements towards shoring up the future of the global economy. The following are some factors that might be utilized in developing keys to the project economy:

  • Building, sustaining and being able to protect personal and professional networks, understanding the value and finding and securing those locations as aligned with that vision.

  • Valuation of the present skills, needs, shortages and projections of existing and new and emerging industries and business protocols.

  • Accentuating the positive and removing the negative. Align with those who have a vision to succeed, albeit a “half-full” mentality and the desire to overcome and push forward. Being fair and equitable.

  • Being conscious and aligned with positive humanitarian efforts.

Enhancing your organizations mobility progressively towards the future with sound practices and having a solid vision of social, humanitarian, and environmental consciousness sets the path of a successful national and world stage and creates a solid foundation for future generations to build upon. A firm handshake can still have value. NFB
